ACTOR. SINGER. DANCER. TEACHER.
REBECCA CORT
about me
Rebecca (she/her) is an Armenian-American actor and singer in the Pacific Northwest with an acting degree from Western Washington University. Her artistic life thrives through a sense of belonging and community, and she's known for her abundant onstage energy, power, presence, conviction, and comedy. She also adores strong movement work, not limited to Commedia dell'arte and puppetry (specifically Audrey II plants).
Rebecca's newest endeavor is launching her acting studio, Cort Studios, where she is a teaching artist for Grotowski-based psychophysical acting. This work is something she's yearned for since graduating college, and she is incredibly passionate about the opportunity to share it with the community.
Rebecca recently returned to the Taproot stage this summer as Sister Mary Robert in Sister Act directed by Bretteney Beverly, in which her solo was described as "heartbreaking" by BroadwayWorld. Other recent works include Sagitarrius/Addison in a reading of Chris DeLair's new musical Signs of Life with AstroLab, Amy March in Little Women at Seattle Rep and Milwaukee Rep, and Suzanne Prevot in The Hello Girls for her Taproot debut.
Rebecca is also a drag king under the name of Broy Tolton, becoming a staple at popular Seattle venue Neumos for their Breaking Free events, where she performs lip syncs and choreography in full costume and/or drag, and went viral for her performance of "Bet On It." (Full performances available to view in Reels)
Other theatrical works include her 5th Avenue debut in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, directed by Jay Santos, and her debut at Village Theatre understudying You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. She received the 2019 Gregory Award and 2019 Gypsy Rose Lee Award for Outstanding Ensemble with her five castmates from Citizen: An American Lyric directed by Jay Santos at Sound Theatre Company. They were also nominated for Outstanding Production (Play) as well as covered by the Seattle Times.
Her performance as Brooke Ashton in Noises Off! at Harlequin Productions, directed by Corey McDaniel, was described as a "female Curly Howard" by The Sub Times, as well as reviewed by other publications:
"But the unexpected star of this one might be Cort, whose role is, essentially, to parade around in something skimpy and be completely daft. Her focused ignorance is exactly the right contrast... in a play that’s a mess by design, it takes a smart actor to take a one-trick character role and turn it into comedy genius."

Rebecca's alter-egos are Rebecca Delight in vintage 40s trio The Memphis Belles and Glitter Becca in kids pop cover band Tweenland with Naomi Morgan Entertainment.
When not doing actor-things, Rebecca enjoys making promotional videos for local theatres, running social media accounts, hip hop class, reading sad books, journaling, Stardew Valley, practicing guitar, listening to Survivor podcasts, forcing people to play Mario Party, talking about the Enneagram (she is a 6 wing 7), and incredibly drawn-out conversations over coffee.
Rebecca is represented by The Actor's Group.
